This was Melanie's first trip to Disney World's Magic Kingdom and needless to say, she talked about seeing Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Tiana the entire drive down! I think Jamal and I were just as excited to go as Melanie was, considering we hadn't been there since our honeymoon in 2004. We planned to spend the entire day there, from open to close, and we did just that! When I say it was hot, I mean that - it was H O T ! ! ! The heat didn't stop anybody, not even us. Ice-cold bottled water and hand-held misting fans were a hot commodity that day.
The lines for rides and other attractions were long, but not as long as I expected them to be. We were able to ride just about everything with the exception of a few like Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain, because Mel missed the height requirement by a couple of inches or more. Despite that, we had a blast. We found a great seafood restaurant in Frontier Land that had the best fried shrimp, slaw and fresh white tuna salad sandwiches that I've had in a very long time. We'll be back there again for sure!
I drained my camera battery dry because I took so many pictures! It died literally just after as the last few fireworks went off at the castle. It's only been a couple of weeks since we've been back, but I'm already looking forward to our next Disney trip. Next time instead of the Magic Kingdom, it will be Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Can't wait! Until then, check out these images from our time in Mickey's world. Enjoy!
