It's been almost two years since shooting my last engagement session, so naturally I felt a bit nervous. At the same time I felt sheer excitement because I knew I was ready for this challenge. I decided to meet Shayla and Mike for a late afternoon session in a quaint little area just outside Atlanta. Of course, being in the middle of July the sweltering heat was a force to be reckoned with. Luckily lots of ice-cold water and plenty shade helped make it all bearable. Shayla and Mike were so comfortable in front of the camera that it made my job almost TOO easy! They are planning a Caribbean destination wedding in May of 2011 and are very much looking forward to their big day. They looked absolutely amazing and their chemistry and love for one another was undeniable. These images prove just that. Enjoy!

2nd Annual July 4th Block Party
My neighbor has started a wonderful tradition by hosting a block party every July 4th. This was only the second one, and I now look forward to it every summer. It's like a simple math equation: good food + good drinks + good weather + good music + family + friends + fireworks = the perfect July 4th. You just can't go wrong with that combination - it's a winner every single time. Here are some of my favorite images that I think you'll enjoy as well.

Roper Family Reunion
The Ropers celebrated another family reunion over the Fourth of July weekend in Atlanta. It was a busy time for them considering they partook in another event that weekend, the Seventh-Day Adventist Convention. I captured so many images between Saturday's luncheon and Sunday's picnic that I wish I could have posted every single one, but I managed to narrowed it down to just a few! I think these images perfectly capture the essence of family at its simplest. Enjoy viewing these images as much as I enjoyed taking them!
